Long Breakfast is a weekend retreat in a Nature Sanctuary in Southern Ohio.

The Saturday of the retreat enjoy a 4 hour, 6-course vegetarian (vegan or gluten free if needed) breakfast served individually or communally in a 100+ year old lodge. Enjoy the views on the porch overlooking a gorge, or the 16 miles of hiking the serene Nature Sanctuary has to offer. Enjoy contemplative activities including morning meditations, gentle yoga, a singing bowl sound therapy session, writing and art prompts, foot soaks, and an all day charcuterie board. All meals for the rest of the retreat prepared for you.

"One thing that I am still carrying with me months later is the softening that I experienced—just checking out of the digital world to connect with my immediate environment."

"When you’re at the Long Breakfast retreat you feel like you’re a part of something special."

"It was such a treat to visit the Highlands Nature Sanctuary in spring; we were greeted with thousands of white trillium as well as dutchman’s breeches, squirrel corn, marsh marigold, and cutleaf toothwort to name a few."

"I loved the waterfall and all the flowers that could be seen on the nearest hiking trail."

"Being greeted by the wild flowers and foliage on the property, to arriving to thoughtful artifacts placed in your room to the delicious and fresh curated food you consume, it feels like it’s made just for you."

"My favorite was sitting on the back porch and listening to the sounds of the creek that runs behind the cabin, while enjoying a foot bath."

"Long Breakfast is a really special experience. Juice and Rachel have put together a retreat with so many thoughtful touches in a beautiful setting. The eponymous long breakfast was amazing with six delicious courses."

"I have a gluten sensitivity and this was well accommodated. I did not feel even a little bit deprived."

"All the meals were so well planned and absolutely delicious. I am vegan and I was accommodated for every meal!"

"And the long breakfast- each course carefully curated to balance out and complement the last. I Can still taste the lemon whipped ricotta that shocked my tastebuds into a new phase in life- yes the food was transformative."

1. Long Breakfast is the Saturday of the retreat. Are other meals provided during the retreat?

~ Yes, all meals, coffee, and drinks are provided including an all day charcuterie board and snacks throughout your stay. However, you may want to bring hiking snacks if you need them.

2. Can you accommodate special diets and / or allergies?

~ Every meal is vegetarian and local organic when possible. We can cater to gluten free, vegan, and nut allergies with notice. However, our kitchen uses both nuts and gluten. We cannot accommodate meat, paleo, and keto diets.

3. Will there be alcohol or can I bring wine for myself?

~ Long Breakfast is completely alcohol free. Feel free to bring extra mocktail fixins if you would like.

4. What are the sleeping accommodations like? Can I have a solo room?

~ Each room has two twin beds. If you are not coming with a friend / companion, you will be bunked with another retreat goer. You may book a room to yourself for an extra fee.

5. Who is welcome at the retreat?

~ Long Breakfast is open to all genders, non-genders, LGBTQ+ folks, straight folks, etc.! We try to match guests as best we can for sleeping accommodations. More questions on this are asked on the registration form.

6. Besides the breakfast, what other activities are available at the lodge?

~ This is a mindfulness, nature, and community oriented retreat. We have morning meditations, a "feeling and being" board, foot soak stations, Tarot cards, add-on face mask bar and Tarot readings, art, writing, and conversation prompts with supplies. We also often have yoga and sound therapy sessions as well.

7. Will I have cell phone or wifi service?

~ The lodge itself has poor cell phone service and no wifi. We encourage folks to unplug and slow down. Though, the parking area has decent service and the sanctuary welcome center has wifi.

8. Is the lodge ADA accessible?

~ Unfortunately the lodge is not ADA accessible. However, for folks with mobility concerns, we can accommodate living room or bedroom dining.

9. Is an early check-in available?

~ We not only have a flexible check-in time on Friday between 1-6:00, we also have a Thursday non-hosted check-in time available for an extra fee! Meals are included in the fee, but our devoted attentiveness is not. The early check-in is wonderful as you make your retreat a proper vacation.

10. What is the investment? Is there an early bird discount?

~ The investment for the retreat is $600. We also have a $40 off early bird discount.

11. Are there scholarship opportunities?

~ YES! We accept 1-2 scholarship applications that are half off the investment in exchange for light housekeeping and a retreat offering such as yoga instruction, sound bath, or guided nature hike. We are open to any ideas on offerings. Send us an email for inquiries.
